Memory Rebuilder_01 is a detachable wool-felt sculpture that translates my embodied experience in Oxford. The process involved dismantling and reconstructing trip documentation- photos, texts written in Latour litany style, and an oil painting through repetitive hand-sculpting.
Wool’s organic hue, imperfect texture, and relaxed charm physically echoed the experience’s perception. This repetitive labour was not merely production but as the forms of embodied research, transforming my body into a ‘time container’ that intuitively embedded my Oxford memory into wool, discovering how culture can be held tactilely, rather than just visually. The detachable form act as a prototype, making personal memory publicly accessible through playful recombination to broaden our memory spectrum.
